Capo Testa

Capo Testa

The extraordinary beauty of our territory finds its maximum expression about 3 km from Santa Teresa Gallura, in a small peninsula made of beaches, enchanting coves and majestic white granite rocks, which give our waters a unique color. This is Capo Testa, already known to the Romans for its strategic position and the supply of granite.

In this magical area, where many recognize the presence of healing energies, you can immerse yourself completely in nature and enjoy unforgettable sensory experiences.

For this reason it is advisable to reach Capo Testa on foot, through the nature trails that the forest has lovingly traced in the Mediterranean maquis. The show is guaranteed!

You can admire the promontory of Capo Testa, with its fantastic granite rocks eroded by the wind, which faces west with a perimeter of about 10km, finding on its right the very close Corsica and on its left, although further away, the island of Asinara.

As soon as you reach the isthmus you can visit the two famous beaches of Rena di Ponente and Rena di Levante, which have been awarded  the   BLUE FLAG. The first one is characterized by soft white sand and a shallow seabed, the second one is made up of a low cliff that thin out to become the beautiful beach of Aunt Colomba, where in ancient times there was the Roman colony of Tibula.

From this point, walking along a small path hidden by vegetation, it is possible to reach the beautiful cove of Poltu Zinu, which offers shelter under beautiful and fragrant junipers.

Continuing on the main road, you reach the military area of the Lighthouse of Capo Testa. Here time stops and your heart can only beat fast in your chest. Majestic white granite rocks shaped by the wind, reflect the light on clear waters, giving it indescribable reflections. The beautiful Cala Francese and Cala Spinosa will remain forever in the hearts of those who visit them. An enchantment.

Continuing on the paths that open up along the same main street, you will reach in 15 minutes the famous valley of the moon, (Cala Grande). The path towards this place of unquestionable charm is characterized by granite rocks of multiple shapes, sometimes similar to living beings, so much so as to make one think of the existence of some ancient legend narrating the ancient inhabitants of those places that have become for who knows what reason huge rock guardians. Here the uncontaminated nature is an absolute presence.
